If you want something doing....

Every Sunday I settle into bed and watch This Week in Tech, the flagship program on Leo Laporte's TWIT network. The program normally has Laporte and three other tech commentators, and covers the big news of the week.

Over the last few weeks though I've got fed up with watching a solely male panel. There are good female tech journalists out there who could fill the slots, and ignoring them so often is just not good enough. It's also deeply off putting to women looking into the industry, and perhaps considering becoming tech writers, to see such little representation of women.

Of course, it's easy for me to winge on, so I've decided to do a little something about it. As I cover tech in politics on digitalpolitico.net and social media over on The Wall I get a lot of tech based stories, and having a growing number of contacts in the industry here in the UK. So I'm going to start covering them more, things like start-ups, video games, and social media. I have no idea how often I'll post (and for the moment I'll be doing it here,) but I can't winge on about a lack of women covering tech while deleting stories in my inbox or not really pursuing contact.
